APS5 – EL1 Policy and Program Officer

Have a background in Program or Policy? We have an extremely high demand for Program and Policy Officers and we would love to hear from you!

Our client is looking for an adaptable, highly motivated candidate to join their team and are specifically looking for an outstanding officer with diverse experience to commence immediately. 

As the Policy/Program Officer you will:

  • Conduct research and analysis across a range of sources to inform policy development;
  • Create implementation plans for complex policy;
  • Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of discussion papers, briefs and submissions to contribute to the development and delivery of policy initiatives;
  • Manage and respond to enquiries from program partners in a timely manner;
  • Identify and engage with relevant stakeholders, technical experts, industry representatives and community members;
  • Contribute to and develop ministerial briefings, written reports and other documents;
  • Provide the Program Manager with recommendations on grant applications;
  • Provide accurate and timely secretariat support services to Executives within the Taskforce;
  • Participate in and present to committee meetings, forums and workshops on relevant topics;
  • Make recommendations on policy instruments, frameworks, content and options to address the Department’s preferred policy position;
  • Understand the specific Departmental, political, social and economic environments in the development of policy advice.

As an experienced APS Officer, you will have:

  • High level research, strategic analysis and interpretation skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Strong understanding of government policy, processes and procedures;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and to meet short and long term deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship skills with drive to delivers exemplary client and customer service;
  • A collaborative approach and enjoy achieving goals as a team.

Communications Officer

Do you have a love for communications? Are you a person with strong determination to achieve absolutely outstanding results? Then we want to hear from you!!

The opportunity

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with a strong communications background, whose primary role will be to assist the communications team to draft, design and distribute digital material for a range of platforms and audiences.

Some key aspects of the role will include:

  • Assisting with communications and extension campaigns;
  • Assisting in developing offline and online strategies and digital tools;
  • Tracking and quantifying the effectiveness of communication initiatives and campaigns;
  • Assisting with social media;
  • Completing reports to analyse results;
  • Developing responses that affect stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

  • Formal quals in Communications, Journalism, marketing, or a similar degree;
  • 3+ years in a similar position;
  • Strong analytics skills working across a number of platforms, e.g., Facebook;
  • Demonstrated excellent written communication and IT skills;
  • Strong design skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • It would be great if you have experience in InDesign / Photoshop / video editing.

APS 6 Project Management Position

Our client, a high profile Federal Government Department has an immediate requirement for an APS 6 Project Manager, to work with line divisions, and to broadly assist in project coordination and implementation. The Branch is also currently implementing an online project management solution which will be used to monitor and report on the progress of the implementation.

The ideal candidate for this outstanding opportunity will have experience in the implementation of policies, programs or initiatives; project management and reporting; and government procurement and contract management. You will also need strong communication skills, attention to detail (including experience in producing high-level reports/briefs) and effective writing skills; proficiency in IT systems and applications; and excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well during periods of high pressure and tight deadlines under limited supervision.
